A mouse model of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) was generated by expressing a constitutively active Gq alpha-subunit (GqQ>L) in glomerular podocytes in a doxycycline regulatable fashion and treating the Gq mice with the podocyte toxin puromycin aminonucleoside (PAN).
