About

Mike is a Mentor-in-Residence with Duke New Ventures. He is the managing director of Triangle BioVentures, a life sciences consultancy, and a Board Director for Molecular Medicine Foundation. He has over 30 years of international pharmaceutical, biotech and med tech industry experience with emphasis on product strategy, development and commercialization. He served as an executive at PPD from 2013-2017, most recently as vice president of strategic partnerships. From 2011-2013, he served as CEO of ALG Therapeutics and served on the board of directors for Algynomics. Previously, Mike held leadership positions at GlaxoSmithKline including vice president, global commercial strategy - infectious diseases and vice president, global product strategy - neurosciences. He led teams through all stages of the medicine development process in both R&D and commercial areas. Mike has directed global product launches in ID and CNS disease areas. In those roles, he developed long-term disease area strategic plans, highlighting commercial opportunities and strategies to optimize franchise success. Mike holds BA degrees in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA from Duke University.
