About
Dan Estay is a Mentor in Residence with Duke New Ventures. He brings over 30 years of global healthcare experience with a successful track record of building and growing medical technology businesses. Dan has held senior leadership positions in general management, business development, and strategic planning with leading healthcare companies, including Abbott and Johnson & Johnson. He has a deep understanding of global markets, including emerging markets in Asia and Latin America, and led Abbott’s cardiovascular device business in Asia for 6 years based in Tokyo, Japan. Dan is a partner with OneMedTech Advisors, providing strategic advisory services for companies focused on the development and commercialization of medical technologies. His areas of practice include business and strategic planning, new ventures, market development, sales and commercial operations, portfolio management, and business development. He is the founder and CEO of SonoVascular, an early-stage company developing ultrasound-based medical devices to address clinical applications with large unmet needs. He is also a member of the board of VQ Biomedical, a Duke University spinout and Duke Capital Partners portfolio company developing an oxygenating catheter. Dan received his BS in business administration from Syracuse University and his MBA from the University of Miami Herbert Business School.
