1. A novel biomedical device called Tumor Monorail, designed to lure tumor cells out of the brain, pied piper-style, is now on a fast track for human trials by the FDA. Ravi Bellamkonda (Dean, Pratt)
2. Bruce Donald, Marcel Frenkel, and Jonathan Jou (Trinity, Computer Science, Biochemistry) have developed a software platform that predicts and out-maneuvers possible drug resistance mutations. The technology was licensed to Gavilán Biodesign, which is one of 11 early-stage biotech companies selected from thousands of applicants to attend San Francisco based IndieBio’s four-month accelerator program.
