Are you curious about tech commercialization—or are you working on a technology with commercial potential? Want to work at a tech startup someday, or for a larger company assessing scientific innovations? Join Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Duke’s Office for Translation & Commercialization for a 2-day bootcamp (February 14-15) to get hands-on experience with the initial stages of tech commercialization. Guided by Duke and local experts, you’ll work with an interdisciplinary team to assess market opportunities for Duke research in biomedical engineering, environmental engineering, materials science, and acoustics. You’ll develop valuable skills in market research, needs validation, and communication of technical opportunities to a broad audience. A virtual pre-Bootcamp session on February 5, 6:00-7:30pm will also be required of all participants. Open to all Duke graduate and professional students and postdocs; meals and snacks provided.
“Going through this process was really critical for me to actually identify the true customer base and end users for the technology that I developed,” said previous participant Hansel Alex Hobbie, an ECE PhD candidate.
